This is such a sweet book. It promotes positive relationships between older generations and younger generations. I am a teacher and I read Fishing With Pop to both of my third grade classes. My students have been taught how to give a good book review and justify their opinion with evidence. They tend to be very opinionated and can be harsh critics. They LOVED this book. I was surprised they all gave it a 5 star review. A few of their reasons were as follows: "It reminds me of when I went fishing with my dad/granddad. It was really funny (and they referred to different lines from the book). The illustrations and background were really cool." What I liked about Fishing with Pop is that it launched my students into talking about different experiences that they have had with their grandparents or dads. For me that is a sign of a great book, when it makes you feel something and you make that personal connection. I also completely understood what my students meant when they said the illustrations are cool. The illustrator did an amazing job combining real pictures in the background with a cartoon overlay. It was fascinating to my students and they wanted me to go back and show them every page. I would highly recommend this book. I think it is a great read, especially for third grade and below. It would also make a great gift for a grandfather or from a grandparent to a grandchild.Product details

This is such a wonderful book! It definitely keeps a child and adults attention as memories of your own start to come to mind. the graphics in this book make you feel like you are right there with the characters. This book is absolutely stunning from the story line to the illustration!
The art work drew us in but the story was so cute. My grandchildren loved it and I loved reading it. I will have to let Grandpa read it to them next time.
What a well done book! I remember learning to fish with my grandpa and brothers and this fun little book brings it all back. I really enjoyed the real life photos with cartoon overlay-how clever! I recommend this book to any adult or child who wants to be taken away from city life to the local fishing hole for some fun times and remembered experiences. Most enjoyable!
